TESTIMONIALS

Bryan:

My daughter and Keegan and I had a great and successful hunt Olde Florida and I look forward to next year's hunt already!  Thank you for your attention to details, from striking the right balance of professionalism and fun all the way to clean accommodations, thorough communication, safe and solid equipment and most importantly, a target rich environment full of exceptional "free range / public water" gators.  We saw more 10' plus gators than we could actually count and a big part of why Keegan ad I booked with you was that we didn't want a canned hunt, but we wanted a fair chase, hands on thrilling experience.  We got everything we asked for on public waters full of trophies and I also appreciate your and Parker's fun professional approach to the hunts.  We can't wait to get boots and belts made from the two trophies we harvested, further memorializing the experience.  We left having felt like we made new friends and wanting to introduce others to the experience.  See you next August!

One of the Most Memorable Experiences of my Life!

I remember when my kids were born, my wedding day and most of that night… but I’ll never forget my first gator hunt! I’m not an avid hunter, but have done my share of waterfowl and upland game hunts. Moving to FL, I was a bit put off by hunting in waters where there might be something bigger, hunting me. That all changed when I linked up with the guys from Olde FL Outdoors. Admittedly, I was green, but these guys seem to have it down to a science. We were on the water at dawn and selected our prey from a target rich environment. Spotting 3 to 5 gators at a time, we could be selective in picking a big one. We had our first trophy gator in the boat by 8am. Second gator was in the boat just before 10... Two trophy gators, one 10’4 and the other 10’6. Their process of spotting, stalking and then bagging these big bad reptiles is very different from what I was expecting. Still challenging, but way smarter than what I’d seen on TV. It was exciting, involved and totally worth it! I’m definitely putting in for tags next season and will be on the water with them the next chance I get, regardless.

This was hands down the coolest, craziest thing I had ever done. I had the best experience hunting with Greg and his team.  Greg is extremely knowledgeable and made the whole excursion a blast. He is an excellent teacher and allows you to participate so you can fully embrace the alligator hunting experience. Not only did we catch one 9 foot gator, we caught TWO. If you’re looking for the time of your life and an experience like no other, I highly recommend gator hunting with Greg! Thank you for the experience of a lifetime!

Joe:

I have hunted all over the United States and Canada for big game and have met a lot of good guides along the way. But, I can honestly say that spending time on the water with Greg as my guide along with my two sons was the best hunt I ever had.  It was clear that Greg had done his homework and knew where to find some monster gators.  Before leaving shore Greg spent time reviewing safety items with us and was always looking out for our best interest throughout the hunt.  You will find that Greg is a very seasoned gator hunter and has a really fun personality that keeps things lite.  He works hard to exceed your expectations and that proved to be the case with us.  My oldest son was able to harvest an 11' 8" gator while his younger brother bagged an 11' 6" gator.  I tagged out with a gator that measured nearly 9'.  We had an awesome time and will be talking about these memories for years to come.

Bob:

I highly recommend anyone who wants the most unique, enjoyable and professional Hunt experience of your life to book a gator hunt with Olde Florida Outdoors. Greg will work harder than you ever will to get your gator and is always a professional with high moral and ethical standards, at the same time is just plain fun. I’ve already booked my second hunt!!

First and foremost I want to give a huge thanks to Greg and Brandon for showing Uncle Kelly, his buddy Danny, and I an amazing 3 day hunt.  We were expecting a good time but after the 3 days was over we realized that this was the hunt of a lifetime. My Uncle landed a 10'11" gator and I landed a 11'2" one!  If you going alligator hunting in Florida, Olde Florida Outdoors are the ones you want to be with. Very generous people and very hardworking. I was recommended to him by my buddy from back home and it's safe to say we are definitely coming back.  They are simple the best!  Can't want to come back and land another lake giant!

I have been on a number of hunts with both great and deplorable outfitters. Greg Love ranks among the best I have experienced. Greg is a firefighter/EMT by trade and is very
observant of his clients’ health and welfare. He did his best to make the hunt a true adventure yet keeping it within the capabilities of his clients. The accommodations and meals provided were excellent and the companionship of Greg and his fellow firefighter assistants was outstanding. Greg Love provides a complete operation with efficiency and attention to the needs of his clients. My wife, Marny, and I would recommend this hunt as an ideal husband and wife
hunt.

Jeff:

We began the afternoon of September 6th glassing for gators.  My son in law had harvested an 11'9" 500# giant that morning and we were hoping to harvest a nice gator again that afternoon.  We spotted several gators in the 10' to 11'+ range when Scott said "look to 11 o'clock."  What we saw was a giant of a gator, head exposed just above the surface of the water. Greg asked me what I thought and my response was "...lets take him." That was the beginning of the gator hunt of a lifetime.  Greg said we're going to slowly motor straight at him, drop the bait direct in front of where he submerges and then put the motor in reverse, backing straight out from the drop.  We hadn't backed out a 100 yards when he resurfaced. We stopped, quietly waited as Greg popped the bait and the gator slowly turned and moved towards the bait, nudged it, and then sucked it into his mouth. The rest is a memory that I will cherish the rest of my life.  Imagine having a 13', 700# + goliath of a gator intent on one thing, getting at whatever it was that had it by the tail!  It was all hands on deck as we fought this ancient reptile for 90 minutes before we finally harvested the animal and able to get it in the boat.  I say we, because it takes a team effort to land a gator on Greg's boat.  It what was truly the gator hunt of a lifetime and exceeded my wildest dreams.

I can't say enough about what an awesome job Greg does.  This was the second time I have had the opportunity to hunt gators with Greg and will not be my last. The man knows and understands the habits of these Florida gators.  He excels at what he does because of his knowledge about his craft and his ability to adjust and coordinate all members on board as you take on these animals.  His warm friendly personality and genuine interest in getting to know the people he takes out is what puts him above other outfitters.  You may begin as a client but you leave as a friend. His honesty and integrity are second to none.  Believe me when I say that we will be back.  Thank you so much Greg Love and OLDE FLORIDA OUTDOORS.

Dennis:

I had the pleasure of taking part in a Veteran's hunt, guided by Greg Love of Olde Florida Outdoors.

From the moment we met I knew I was in good hands. Greg was extremely thorough and patient in explaining the process and setting realistic expectations while emphasizing safety, every step of the way.

Once we got out on the water, Greg expertly navigated the water ways while explaining how weather affects the gator's movement and feedinghabits. Even as a prior Sailor, I learned a lot about the water and weather, which I truly appreciated.

Once we glassed a harvest-worthy gator, the real action set it. Greg is an absolute smooth operator. He flawlessly operated the bait line, ordered directions to the boat navigator, all while re-explaining what my actions would be next and helping us prepare gear.

I'll admit, the excitement and adrenaline caused me to take some missteps, but Greg was right there by my side the whole time to ensure my safety and success. We landed a 9'9" gator, with that being my first ever harvest of any type.

Greg's knowledge, professionalism, and genuine kindness fostered an incredible experience that I will remember and cherish for the rest of my life.

Additionally, I'd like to highlight 1 lesser-known skill of Greg's: the man knows all the best food joints in St. Cloud. He'll make sure you get some good grub after the hunt is over.

Okay, one more thing: Greg's eyesight is otherworldly. This man was spotting gators 500+ yards away with his naked eye, while I struggled with a decent pair of binos. Truly impressive!

Lester:

You are moving, the boat is moving, the water is moving, the wind is blowing creating waves; the sun is shining bright and hot as you glass for an ancient predator on a shallow but large miles wide lake. This is the domain of the alligator and I am under no illusion that I know what I am doing. Here I am just as much prey as predator.

Greg Love, the guide absolutely knows what he is doing and along with fellow SCI Georgia Chapter Member Joe Tulloss and his trusty assistants Clay and Owen we are hunting alligator just south of Orlando. If you are a fan of Peter Hathaway Capstick, think of Clay and Owen as Silent and Invisible. Quiet, self-confident men who know what they are doing; superbly professional and keen eyed. No African tracker is better in the mopane and jess than they are on the water.

Clay is a firefighter and EMT; very personable and an old s

school gentleman but deadly serious alligator hunter. Owen is also a charter boat captain and offers superb salt water fishing on his Hell’s Bay boat. I chartered a fishing trip with him and had a great time. He offers both spinner and fly fishing.

Greg is a firefighter by profession. He has long since lost count of the people he has saved as an EMT or firefighter or through his ministry. As a firefighter and EMT he holds literally every certification that can be had to include the most advanced lifesaving skills. He is a renaissance man capable of telling stories that rival Capstick, explaining the physics of vehicle extraction, the science of fire or telling several centuries of Florida history. He has a build, stride and self-assurance that reminds me of Clint Eastwood in his spaghetti western days.

This is NOT Swamp People. Nothing you see on that show comes close to this adventure. Greg has a system that works. It is not easy and when you are holding an alligator next to the boat by a snatch hook as it death rolls and slashes its tail with a force strong enough to dent the boat and bites that boat so hard that it leaves puncture marks; well you know that this is no joke. Legally you must take the alligator with a bang stick. Take your middle finger and thumb and make a circle – that is the size of the area you are trying to hit with the bang stick. You are moving, the boat is moving, the water is moving, the wind is blowing creating waves, the alligator is moving. The water is murky, you can only see clearly for about 8 inches and the alligator is not happy. The tail is slashing the boat. Water splashes everywhere. Muscles strain to control the alligator as it thrashes about; fall in the water and you are a goner. There are few adventures such as this, go if you can; as soon as you can.  Joe and I both got alligators that were more than 10 feet long. A few days later Greg guided hunters to several 12 and one 13 foot alligator.
